January – 2021 Monthly Colour Challenge

Welcome to 2021 and I am excited to be joining in with Jen from Patterns by Jen with her 2021 Monthly Colour Color Challenge. Ooh that spelling difference is going to be a challenge itself.

What is this year long plan?

The Monthly Color Challenge will begin it’s fourth year January 1st, and I am excited to join in the 2021 Monthly Color Challenge. This year we’re getting our inspiration from Fruits and Veggies.

Each month there is a change in colour and a new block. You can see all the colours to come this year at this post on Jen’s blog. Jen also shares all the info on what you need and you can choose to sign up to receive the block sent straight to your inbox.

My block for January

OK, it’s about time to see my block for January, the colour for this month is eggplant, aka purple. During this year some of us will share some recipes that feature the fruit or veg of the colour of the month. My family is not a fan of eggplant so I have nothing for you this month.

I have planned a consistent background for my quilt and will be adding the feature colour color. There are a plethora of scraps in my studio so I have vowed to sew from them if I possibly can.

So if you are keen to sew along with us this year, yes there’s a layout design for you at the end of the year, head over to Jen’s blog and join in. The blocks are free for the release month, and you can have them sent to your inbox, Oh and each block comes with a How To video right in the instructions.

My Tip to you.

Follow Jen’s instructions, she shares a few points to note so your block looks just like hers. Mine is reversed, oops! That’s OK, it turned out the right size so I am happy.

Want to join in? It’s not too late, see all the inspo from the bloggers at the links below.

Happy Sewing
