I’m sharing a few blocks on this journey through the bible with Jen’s Jesse Tree Quilt along.
Here is my block for Samuel’s Oil Lamp.
As I am using my scrap stash to sew this quilt, I need to choose a background that I have enough of. The smaller pieces in the design are easier to have enough for. I really like how the flame is quilt strongly coloured in this block.
When I asked hubby what Samuel’s oil lamp might have been made from and he replied that I had asked a really good question. Google search supplied little more info other than some might have been made from clay or metal and carved or decorated with tooling marks, so hence I chose this patterned light brown, as my artistic license allows.
Find the info about the quilt along at Faith and Fabric.
Find the Jesse Tree quilt Pattern.
Join the fun. I’ll be sharing a few more blocks in weeks to come.
