Product release – Aussie Mug Rugs
What do wattle, a gecko, a kangaroo and gum blossoms have in common? They are all found in Australia and are all featured in our set of four Aussie Mug Rugs.
These would be great to make for a friend overseas, a swap partner, and even for yourself.
What’s a mug rug? It’s like a coaster but bigger and prettier, almost like a small mini quilt. It’s large enough usually to rest your mug and a snack. If it gets a little dirty it can be put in the wash really easily.
If you’d like to make a set yourself, head over to the Patterns part of the website to find the downloadable pattern set there. There will be a tutorial for the general making of the mug rugs here.
Mum and I had a lovely day photographing whilst we were visiting them in April this year. This old tree stump was a great backdrop and we raided the cupboards to find some mugs to coordinate. The little cow was included in all these pics because we could and we were on Mum’s property on which they have Belted Galloway cows. Now I know this little one is not a Beltie but a cow all the same.
Anyway I hope you like this set of designs and can see yourself making some for a gift or swap or even for your own home. I have a collection of mug rugs now and I love them.
