General Information about our Sewcial Retreats 2024 events.

What is Sewcial Retreats?

It is a 2 day crafting retreat (Saturday and Sunday). If you enjoy the opportunity to delve into your projects and sew to your hearts content, this event will be ideal to attend and to make progress on whatever project you choose. It is about community, enjoying your crafts and meeting with other craft minded potential friends.

When are Sewcial Retreats events in 2024

  • April 13th – 14th 2024
  • October 5th-6th 2024

What is the cost and what is included?

To attend retreat the fee is $240 per person ($225 Early Bird, until the end of January). This allows you to attend the 2 days of the retreat. We will hold a couple of demonstrations, help sessions if required, and a few fun activities for our retreatees.

How do I sign up for the retreat?

Please purchase your retreat ticket here. Your ticket is confirmed when payment has been processed.

What if I can’t attend both days?

We understand that there are times when a whole weekend crafting will be hard to orchestrate. We have put in options for attending either date so that you can still be part of the event.

Where is the Sewcial Retreat held?

Our April retreat will be held at Gold Creek Tourist Resort, Gold Creek ACT. October’s venue is to be decided.

Can I bring my sewing machine?

Yes, you can, we are looking forward to a couple of days of major crafting progress for your projects.

Not from Canberra? where should you stay?

Gold Creek Tourist Resort is offering a discount for retreatees who book to stay, please mention that you are coming for the Sewcial Retreats event when you call to book.  Canberra also has venues to park your caravan or RV, and many other accomodation options.

Are food & drinks included in the fee?

Tea and coffee are included and available all day. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are included in your retreat fee, you will be responsible for your own breakfast. Rooms at the gold Creek Tourist Resort have a kettle and small fridge and minimal crockery.  There are numerous cafes nearby.

When do we receive confirmation of our place on retreat?

You will receive an automated email confirmation at the time your retreat purchase is processed. Please check your junk/spam folder if this doesn’t appear soon after purchase. If you are booking a number of tickets, the purchaser only will receive a confirmation email when the purchase is processed. About 1 month before the retreat, watch for an email filled with details about the retreat, timings and any other news we need to share.

The tough stuff, the cancellation policy, terms and conditions of booking?

  • Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting does not accept responsibility for changes in personal circumstances of retreat attendees. Please consider the dates carefully.
  • If you must cancel, please note that more than 45 days prior to the start of the retreat your refund will be ticket price less a $25 administration fee.
  • If you must cancel less than 45 days prior to the start of the retreat – we are sorry but we are unable to process a refund unless we can fill your place. If we can fill your place, your refund will be your ticket price less a $25 administration fee.
  • If you find you simply cannot attend but you have a friend who wishes to take your place please contact us via email to enable this exchange.
  • Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting reserves the right not to accept a booking/purchase. This event is created for our retail clients and customers. Promotion of other businesses is at the discretion of Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting and by invitation. A business owner may certainly attend as a retreatee, unless invited otherwise by Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting.
