Welcome to the Aurifil Yearly Thread box, this is like a subscription where you are sent a box of gorgeous bundles of sewing thread. The difference is that you will be sent one box full of Aurifil thread goodness, enough to last you a year.
In your box you will find – 12 cute packages wrapped and labeled for the months of the year. Each package contains 2 50wt Aurifil thread reels. The colours are just beautiful and the thread is fantastic quality.
This selection has been curated by us here at SSQ. We have chosen colours that are useful, on trend and hopefully timed for seasonal creativity.
It is totally up to you when you open the packages. You can choose to be self-diciplined and open a thread package each month, or you can open them all at once. You might like to include a friend or the person who gave you this gift as a distributor of the monthly packages should you need help to wait for the next month. What a fabulous excuse for a coffee catchup!
At the end of the year you will have 24 beautiful Aurifil threads that you can use in a variety of projects. The thread box will contain a variety of neutrals which are perfect for piecing and backgrounds, plus a selection of brighter colours that can be used for sewing, top stitching and quilting where you want colour to show. Of course you can use your threads however you wish. I encourage you to use them up. Create, sew, quilt and enjoy the quality thread and gorgeous colours during your creative time.

Why the change from last year? We are working to reduce costs and postage is a large contributor to costs. By sending the larger box of threads, we have just one postage amount. Yes it does mean you have the choice to open all the threads or treat it as a subscription and open a parcel each month.

Aurifil’s 50wt/2ply thread is a most versatile Cotton thread. It is available in all 270 Cotton colours. The 50wt thread is strong and thin, and results in remarkably flat and crisp seams. While it is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English Paper Piecing it also works incredibly well for Needle Turn Applique, Bobbin and Machine Lace, Machine Applique (Straight Stitch, ZigZag, Blind Hem and Blanket Stitch,) Machine Embroidery, Dense Machine Quilting, Subtle Machine and Longarm Quilting, Basting, Whole Cloth and Micro Quilting, and Dense Background Designs.
