CGT Collectors Club Part 2
This past month I have been eagerly waiting for my first installment from Cottage Garden Threads and the year long project the Collectors Club Part 2.
We’ve been able to make a start on our projects. We received the first 6 threads and the patterns and I also ordered the pattern transfer so I did not need to trace the whole design, it’s pretty detailed and this saved me hours of tracing.
Aren’t those colours beautiful?!, Barbara is using a beautiful cream linen for her project.I used the transfer papers made it easier to put the design on the fabric. Barbara has her transfer papers to do the same. You can see they are reversed ready to be transferred the correct way on the fabric. And here’s my sampler with the threads placed near their number.I started with Ruby and worked the sampler to get me back into the rhythm of stitching. Ruby is a subtle range of pinks. Next I worked on the main project using the detailed instructions sent out with the pattern. Chain stitch, back stitch and french knots.Satin stitch is not my favourite but I’m pretty happy with these flowers and their french knot centres. The did a little bit of Melting Moment, but this is as far as I got stitching the sampler.
