It’s a New Year

Wow, the Christmas holiday time went pretty fast here.  We had a great Christmas day with family and my kids got to see their cousins and grandparents and other extended family.

Studio Shuffle

I’ve been mulling over a shakeup to my quilting studio for a few months now and had to wait until the end of the ‘work’ year to tackle this, even though I wanted to start as soon as I thought about new furniture arrangements and all the items I needed to sort through.  I’ll be sharing those pictures in a few weeks, both the before and after.

Sewing for me!

There are some great things coming up this year.  I’m planing to do a bit more sewing for myself and this includes some dressmaking.  In between everything else I am aiming to make one item of clothing per month.  Maybe not all for me but still, aiming for handmade and awesome therefore.

Sew alongs, Bees and BOM’s

I’m going to be doing a few quilting bees and a couple of BOM’s, it’s going to be busy but enjoyable. For a start there’s the Honey Pot Bee by Molli Sparkles and

I’ve signed up to do “Down The Rabbit Hole” by Sarah Fielke.

I’m also involved in the 2nd year of Project 48 and very excited to see all the blocks from this as they are released.  My block is released in February and you’ll need to sign up for this to get the block.

I’ll be taking part in the Snail Paced Sew along by Angie from Gnomeangel as well. This is going to be a year long project.

First up though will be another block from the Farmer’s Wife 1930’s sew along and then the #100day100blocks Finish along with the hashtag #100blocksfinished.

A fantastic year ahead…

Along with all this Barbara and I have been planning and making and getting as prepared as we can be for this year, there will be new designs each month, tutorials, a stitch along later in the year and the Christmas in July sale like last year, that is a good deal for a great set of patterns. More info coming on those.

So enjoy your beginning to 2017, here’s to a great year!
