2021 Monthly Color Challenge – December
What is this year long plan?
The 2021 Monthly Color Challenge is in it’s fourth year, and I am excited to join in. This year we’re getting our inspiration from Fruits and Veggies.
Each month there is a change in colour and a new block. You can see all the colours to come this year at this post on Jen’s blog. Jen also shares all the info on what you need and you can choose to sign up to receive the block sent straight to your inbox.
My block for December
Here’s my block for December, the colour for this month is Green for Green Olives.
I have planned a consistent background of the dark charcoal grey and will be adding the feature colour color. There are a plethora of scraps in my studio so I have vowed to sew from them if I possibly can. I liked this fabric with the hint of red as well, good for this month. Actually the slight plaid look I really enjoyed and I was pretty pleased with the pattern alignment as well.
I have been trying to add in the fruit or veg in the pics with the blocks but I thought it might get a little messy with real olives

My Tip to you.
Nest your seams well when you do QST. A good press and inning to help with your seam allowances. This goes for pretty much all your blocks.

I am a recent convert to liking olives. A couple of the lads here like them, the others do not
We enjoy olives with bocconcini and cherry tomatoes, cut up on pizza, and in a salad.
