International Stitch Marathon

I am joining a bunch of creative friends, and some friends-to-be this weekend for the International Stitch Marathon.

what is this event?

It’s a 12hr marathon of sewing on the 4th March. There will be a number of people there to ask questions of and new friends to make.

It’s a live event on a zoom call so you can see what others are doing and chat along as well. Take a break when you need to and join in when you can

I checked the time converter and this event does start at 3am Saturday for me so I will still be sleeping at the start but will join in when I can as I have a big project I want to sew during the event.

Here are some words from Brenda about the event;

You are invited to join us for a 12 Hour sewing marathon! Together we’ll have the opportunity to come together and sew, crochet, cross stitch, or whatever your passion. This is a beautiful opportunity to begin a new project or work on an unfinished one! We will be meeting on March 4th from 9am MST to 9pm MST, and you’ll be able to join in for as much of the marathon as you like. Come for the full 12 hours, or come just for a few hours – it’s totally up to you. We have so many fun activities planned throughout the marathon! We’ll be playing games, demoing our favorite sewing tools, and sharing sewing tips and tricks. You’re more than invited to bring a friend – and we know that you’ll make some new friends at the marathon, too.

What are you sewing?

I will be piecing my Exploding Heart quilt, I have the blocks up on my design wall, (thanks Kelly!) and that’s what I will be working through during the International Stitch Marathon.

This is also one of my own declared projects for our SSQ Finish Along so this is a great opportunity to make a big dent in the work for that. More pics to come about this project.

Who is involved?

Have a look through their Youtube channels to find out more.

Might see you online on Saturday, well it’ll be Saturday in Australia.
