#100days100blocks – Kinship blocks 41-60

Welcome to my series of posts of my blocks for the 2024 #100days100blocks-Kinship. This is the Kinship quilt pattern.

#100 days 100 blocks

These #100day100blocks events are run by Ange Wilson from Gnomeangel. There are 3 events this year, we are currently in the midst of Event 1 where we are sewing the Kinship quilt pattern.

The idea is to improve your skills, test some colour theory and have fun sewing in community with all the other doing this event.

Kinship Pattern

Kinship is the quilt pattern for this event and it’s available from Gnomeangel in PDF or hard copy.

There are 100 different blocks in the pattern and they are in 2 sizes. There are so many ways to layout your blocks, check the #100days100blocks to see all the fun from years past.

My Fabric Pull

I have pulled fabric from the shelves, and it was yardage that I had purchased so I have plenty to make this quilt. I have made scrappy quilts in previous years but this one is a limited palette of 3 solid greens, a feature cacti print and a solid hot pink highlight.

My colours for this #100days100blocks – Kinship,are bright lime green, medium sage green, dark kelly green, cacti print on a white background and hot pink.

Quilting thoughts

I am searching for a cacti pantograph for this quilt as I think that will be the best option. The cute print doesn’t need overshadowing by custom quilting. I think this is a quilt that only needs a pantograph as a themed addition to the colours and feature print.
